Why Subscribe?
Your subscription helps support the combatants, witnesses, and victims of war and geopolitical violence who are our contributors. Because the experiences, realities, and consequences of war and geopolitical violence are themes that few literary platforms highlight, writers and artists who work in these subject matters have far fewer venues with which to publish. We’re determined to keep providing our platforms for these writers and artists.
Our contributors include accomplished authors and artists such as Pulitzer Prize winner Peter Balakian, Pulitzer Prize nominee Bruce Weigl, NEA Fellow Martha Collins, and Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters winner Tom Sleigh, among many others.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, you’ll be helping provide the public with works and voices from around the world that promote a clearer and more nuanced understanding of what’s at stake in choosing to wage war or engage in conflict. Our goal is to create conversation and awareness, and by subscribing you’ll be helping get these powerful works in front of more people.
This substack is free and will remain free. If you want more exclusive content, we invite you to subscribe at whatever level you feel you can. This helps show your support for the time and energy that goes into it.
Help us share these experiences and voices related to the consequences of war and geopolitical violence by letting a friend know about this newsletter.
